The Sables Junior Squad was established in 2008 as a vehicle for encouraging young people to take up the sport of lawn bowls.

Bowls is an aspect that requires no particular talent or aptitude and it can be played by young people from around the ages of between 9 to 11 years old, however, It does require the assistance of a qualified coach, to start off with.

Since it’s inception, our junior section have been very successful at both regional and national levels, winning a number of Gold and Bronze medals at different tournaments.

Lawn bowls is a great way for young people to exercise while enhancing their mental strength and focus, as well as teaching good manners and sportsmanship.

The aim of the SAB youth committee is to actively encourage younger people to play lawn bowls and therefore assists with keeping the costs incurred as low as possible.

Being part of the District Junior Squad enables our youth to the following:

·         Membership to a district club, as well as national and regional bodies

·         Free coaching

·         The opportunity to play in regional as well as national competitions

·         The opportunity to be selected in District Squads
